Key aspects of this strategic program include:
- Strategic Vision – The CTO is charged with responsibility to identify leading edge technologies that the corporation needs in response to current and future customer challenges. The CTO conducts analyses of new technologies that can enhance DCS support to critical customer requirements. New technological challenges and techniques are transformed into business and career opportunities by focused investments in staff development, infrastructure enhancements, and training.
- Communication – One of the key responsibilities of our CTO is to ensure that technological capabilities and knowledge that reside at one DCS site can be applied across all corporate disciplines and business units. Our culture of teamwork and doing what it takes to get the job done only happens because our staff freely communicates with each other. The CTO facilitates effective internal communications and knowledge-sharing that provides direct benefits to customers by leveraging corporate-wide skills and expertise.
- Innovation – The CTO manages the corporate IR&D program that has the dual objective of fostering internal opportunities for innovation while providing customers creative technical solutions in a high tempo, resource-limited environment. Members of the technical staff are encouraged to participate in focused IR&D projects to enhance employee empowerment as they contribute to the success of the corporation.
